Mário Tavares has been working with the Portuguese Red Cross for over 20 years, serving both as a professional and volunteer in various areas, including Emergency Response, Youth Coordination, and the management of refugee centers and unaccompanied minors. He also served as Executive Director of the Portalegre Branch and has collaborated with other National Societies, such as the British, Belgian, and Luxembourg Red Cross.

She has been working with the Portuguese Red Cross since January 2002, having served as the national coordinator for psychosocial support and as Portugal’s focal point for the Psychosocial Centre of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. She was part of the Task Force on Psychological Intervention in Crisis and Disaster Contexts and a member of the "Refugees" Working Group of the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations. She is currently the project manager of EU4Health at the Portuguese Red Cross.

He has led interventions in regions such as Syria, Libya, Gaza Strip, Iran, East Central Africa, Zimbabwe, among others
Psychological First Aid Specialist
Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) specialist and focal point for the EU4Health program. He leads the portfolio on youth mental health and child-focused MHPSS. He has over a decade of experience working on programs for children and young people living in conflict-affected areas.
